Buffalo Glenelg Feature Image

Set against the backdrop of Glenelg’s scenic marina, the recently completed Buffalo Glenelg project delivers a refined and functional public space upgrade for the City of Holdfast Bay. Designed to elevate the visitor experience while withstanding the coastal environment, Terrain Group worked closely with council to supply and install a modern, low-maintenance solution with timeless appeal.

A Coastal-Inspired Shelter Solution
At the heart of the project is the installation of a custom 8m x 4m Barossa Wave Shelter, featuring a clear anodised structure and a Colorbond Surfmist roof. The sleek wave profile and high-side screens not only provide sun and wind protection but also create a striking architectural feature that complements the waterfront setting.

Practical & Durable Seating
Two Eco Table Settings (1800mm) were also installed beneath the shelter, each constructed using Timbermatch planks in KWILA and finished with powder-coated black frames. This blend of durable materials and refined finishes ensures longevity and aesthetic harmony within the space.

Integrated Electrical and Lighting
The addition of weatherproof power outlets, dual batten lighting, and a motion sensor ensures the space remains inviting and functional at all times of the day, enhancing usability and safety.

Full-Scope Project Management
Terrain Group provided complete project delivery services, including:

Temporary fencing and accurate set-out

Service location and hydrovac excavation

Electrical conduit integration

Concrete footing works and curing

Core-mounted installation of furniture

Paver removal and reinstatement

Final site clean-up and spoil removal

Community-Driven Outcomes
This revitalised public space now offers a shaded, accessible, and welcoming zone for the local community and visitors to enjoy the marina views, picnic with family, or simply pause along their coastal walk.
