Moorook’s new MODUS toilet building completed
When the District Council of Loxon Waikerie called for public tenders for a toilet block with a curved roof line to fit in with existing shelters in the region, Terrain Group decided to submit an off-spec tender based on recent similar buildings in the riverland area. The community of Moorook specifically wanted a toilet building with a curved roof and were heavily involved with the process, however such a roof hadn’t been done before within the MODUS catalogue. With Terrain’s ability to customise almost any of our products, we set about offering a curved roof solution for the building, and subsequently won the tender with what is now known as the Richmond style building.
The council demolished the existing toilet leaving the septic system for use with the new toilet. Frequented by local campers and other park users, it was important that the site experience as little downtime as possible. The building itself was operational within a week of commencing the works, leaving an impressive building stacked with all of the modern features you’d expect from a state of the art toilet building, yet seamlessly fitting in with its surrounds.
The council requested additional timber hardwood screening across the front of the toilet for aesthetics, which was custom made and installed by Terrain Group, and automatic door locks were fitted to ensure the site is kept secure at night.
With the toilet looking fantastic, the council were incredibly pleased with the outcome.
We are very pleased with the final product. The toilet block looks great but it also ticks all the boxes in regards to functionality and is easy to maintain and clean. We have also installed Terrain Group toilets at the Loxton Pioneer Playground and the Waikerie Rain Moth Gallery. By doing so, Council has been able to supply the public with similar functionality, style and visual appearance of public toilets in our Council district.
